The Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water is actively involved in organizing and sponsoring water-related conferences around the world. The Prize's activities in this regard fall into three broad categories:

First and foremost, the Prize (in conjunction with King Saud University and the Saudi Ministry of Water and Electricity) organizes the bi-annual International Conference on Water Resources and Arid Environments (ICWRAE), which is held concurrently with the Prize's awards ceremony. Under the Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, ICWRAE brings together a distinguished body of scholars and experts from around the world to share water-related research in a spirit of benevolence and with a global vision.

The 3rd Conference also hosted regional and international workshops on the ministerial level.

For more information on the Conference and for registration for ICWRAE 2010, please visit the ICWRAE website by clicking on the ICWRAE link on the left menu.

The Prize is also committed to organizing conferences in conjunction with the United Nations and UNESCO, in its capacity as a permanent observing member of the United Nations' Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), focusing on the application of space technologies to water-related concerns.

So far, the Prize in conjunction with the United Nations, UNESCO, and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, participated in organizing the International Conference on the Use of Space Technology for Water Management which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 12-16 April 2008.

3. Finally, the Prize sponsors and participates in numerous water-related conferences around the world, sponsoring at least 10 to 15 different conferences and exhibitions during each round of the Prize, often at the "gold" or "platinum" level.

The Prize's participation in international water-related conferences and forums often includes the giving of seminars under the title "Saudi Water Day". The Prize also arranges meetings between participating scholars in order to foster the exchange of ideas.
