PSIPW Laureates Selected as Judge, Advisor for XPRIZE Water Scarcity Prize

Peng Wang and Menachem Elimelech, the 9th and 10th Award winners, respectively, for the Alternative Water Resources Prize of the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) have been chosen to serve on the XPRIZE Water Scarcity Prize, a US $119 million, 5-year global competition designed to drive widespread access to clean water by creating reliable, sustainable, and affordable seawater desalination systems. Dr. Wang was chosen to judge the prize and Dr. Elimelech was selected as a member of the advisory board.

PSIPW Showcases 11th Awards Ceremony at COPUOS

On 11 February 2025, the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) presented a formal statement to the United Nations Committee for the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space giving the highlights of the 11th PSIPW Awards Ceremony which took place on 8 November 2024 at the United Nations Office at Vienna.

PSIPW sends two party-level delegates to COP 29 in Baku

Maria Cristina Rulli of the University of Milan and Paolo D’Odorico of the University of California Berkeley were PSIPW’s party-level delegates to the 29th Conferences of the Parties on Climate Change a party-level delegate to the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29), which took place from 11 to 22 November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
