The Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW)

Ever since HRH, the late Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, established the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) in 2002 as a non-profit NGO, King Saud University has stood by its side as a strategic partner in providing valuable scientific and logistical support.

As Saudi Arabia’s leading university and now an independent, non-profit academic institution itself, King Saud University has a Memorandum of Understanding with PSIPW, where it provides the facilities for PSIPW’s General Secretariat, as well as giving high-calibre scientific support for PSIPW’s many water-science related activities.

PSIPW has, in turn, established a research chair at King Saud University dedicated to optimising water harvesting and recharge in Saudi Arabia under the uncertain conditions of climate change. Together, they have developed and successfully deployed many successful water harvesting and recharge inititaives throughout the country.

PSIPW and King Saud University have been partners in organizing the International Conference on Water Resources and Arid Environments (ICWRAE) biennually in Riyadh since 2004.
