Can I apply through the post?
No. All nominations for the 4th Award of the Prize will be made online through an electronic application form that will be available on the PSIPW website.
Can I nominate myself for the Prize?
You may nominate yourself for any of the four Branch Prizes. You may not nominate yourself for the Creativity Prize.
Can I nominate someone else for one of the Branch Prizes?
No. A person may not nominate someone else for the Branch Prizes. Only self-nominations are accepted. However, if the person is a member of a team that worked on the same project, that person may apply on behalf of the whole team. The team will have to submit a signed group endorsement consenting to have one of its members act as its official representative for the nomination.
Who can submit a nomination for the Creativity Prize and who is eligible to be nominated?
Nominations for the Creativity Prize must be made by a university, institution, or government agency (the Nominating Organization) on behalf of an individual or team (the Nominee). Individuals may not nominate themselves or others for the Creativity Prize.
A Nominee may be an individuals or a team whose work is deemed by the Nominating Organization to be worthy for the Prize. Organizations are not eligible to be nominees for the Creativity Prize.
Can a team or group of people be nominated together?
An individual or group of individuals (a team working on the same project or research) may be nominated for the Prize. In the event that a group of individuals are being nominated, all group members must be named at the time of application and one member must be specified as their representative. Groups of people working on the same project may not be nominated separately. They must be nominated as a group with a single nomination form.
Can older works be considered for the Prize?
The work or works being considered for the nomination must have been completed no more than five (5) years prior to the nomination deadline for the current Prize.
What types of work may be considered for the Prize?
Published research papers, published books, and registered patents may be submitted for consideration.
How many works may be submitted for consideration?
No more than five (5) distinct works may be submitted. Multiple works should not be collected together and submitted as a single work.
If more than one work is being submitted for one of the Branch Prizes, all the works must be related to the particular specialized branch chosen for the nomination.
Are unpublished works eligible for the Prize?
No. Only published research papers, published books, and registered patents are eligible for the Prize.
What languages are acceptable for submission?
Works will be reviewed and judged in English. If the work being nominated was originally published in a language other than English, it must be submitted in the original language accompanied by a full translation or by a translation of the parts of the work that are to be considered for the Prize. If a partial English translation is provided for a work submitted in another language, then only that portion of the work which is translated will be considered for assessment.
Can a nominee be nominated for more than one Prize in the same round?
No. A nominee may not be nominated in the same round for more than one branch of the Prize.
Can works be considered that have received other prizes in the past?
Works that have previously been awarded an international prize are not eligible. Of course, people and organizations who have previously won other international prizes are still welcome to apply, but they must submit works that have never won an international prize in the past. Works that have only received local, national and regional prizes are eligible for nomination.
